The overall general title is "THE YEARLY FEASTS"
The subtitle "the yearly feasts: REMEMBER the Sabbath Day"
Comment:
There are 31 FEASTS found in the KJV Bible;
27 verses in the OT, and 4 verses in NT
OT (pls, do your own comprehensive work!)
first mentioned in Leviticus 23:2 - H4150 (Mo'ed)
majority refers to Mo'ed, and the first mentioned of Mo'ed is in Genesis 1:14 (as the word SEASON)
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night;
and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
but NOT all word "FEASTS" refers to the same meaning, example
Psalms 35:16, the word feasts H4580 (Ma'og) meaning cake!
Isaiah 5:12, 5:39, the word feasts H4960 (Mishteh) meaning banquet, drink!
however, there are also FEASTS which refers almost the same as H4150 (Mo'ed)
they are
Ezekiel 45:17, Ezekiel 46:11, Amos 8:10, the word feasts H2282 (chag) meaning sacrifice!
NT
Mat 23:6, Mark 12:39, G1173, (deipnon) meaning meal, supper!
Jude 1:12, (agape), feasts of charity = love, benevolence, feast of love!
next, the WORD "YEARLY" COMMENT : there is no "yearly feasts" found in the Bible;
so this is an understanding about MO'ED that occurs annually or yearly
since the phrase "yearly feasts" is NOT found in the Bible
Based on Leviticus 23, we already learned that there are 2 kinds of FEASTS of the Lord,
which is a HOLY CONVOCATION (verse2)
the Sabbath (after 2 days of work, the 7th day Sabbath, Sabbath (H7676) rest (H7677) is a FEAST, HOLY CONVOCATION
feasts of the LORD based on their SEASONS (H4150)
A) the passover (14D1M)
B) the feast of unleavened bread (start 15D1M for 7 days)
C) feast of firstfruits, wave sheaf (16D1M or on the morrow after the sabbath)
D) feast of weeks, 50 days (7 sabbaths +1) starting the morrow after the sabbath (16D1M)
E) feast of trumpets, (1D7M)
F) day of atonement (10D7M)
G) feast of booths, in gathering, (15D7M for 7+1 day)
These 7 feasts are performed, at their appointed times, YEARLY, and they are holy convocation, each feast is a FEAST day of the Lord!
About these annual FEASTS, are there any evidence they were KEPT before Sinai?
Let's use our reasoning power and evaluate!
GIVEN WHILE IN EQYPT!
Exodus 12:1 describes about the BEGINNING OF MONTHS!
THE START OF COUNTING MONTHS, WHEN IS THE FIRST MONTH!
14D1M = SHALL BE LORD'S PASSOVER (V11)
AND IT SHALL BE A MEMORIAL, TO KEEP A FEAST THROUGOUT YOUR GENERATIONS,
SHALL KEEP IT A FEAST BY AN ORDINANCE (H2708) FOR EVER! (V14)
H2708 (CHUQQAH) = MEANING STATUTE! (KETETAPAN)
compare to
Deuteronomy 4:1, Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes (H2706, CHOQ) and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.
Deuteronomy 6:2, hat thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes (H2708) and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.
needs to continue to study about this "ordinance"!
